Below is a summary of the coverages offered.
A Certificate of Insurance will be issued outlining the coverages in
detail once you've purchased the insurance.
Schedule of Coverages
Family Member: Means a Traveling Companion(s), and the
Insured's or Traveling Companion's spouse, child, spouse's child,
daughter-in-law, son-in-law, brother, sister, mother, father,
grandparents, grandchild, step-brother, step-sister, step-parents,
parents-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, uncle, niece,
nephew, legal guardian, or legal ward. It also means the Insured's
business partner. ("Business Partner" means
someone who is a majority stockholder, managing officer, or majority
owner of the company.) Traveling Companion: Means a
person whose name appears with yours on the same Trip arrangement and
who, during the entire Trip will share accommodations with you in the
same room, cabin, condominium unit, apartment unit, or other lodging.
Trip Cancellation & Interruption:
We will pay this benefit up to the Maximum Limit shown on the Schedule
of Benefits if a trip is delayed, canceled or interrupted due to any of
the following unforeseen circumstances: (a) Sickness, Injury or death of
an Insured or Family Member; (b) Financial Default of airline, cruise
line, or tour operator resulting in the complete cessation of services.
Excluded is the organization from which you purchased this coverage.
Coverage only applies if: (1) you purchased he policy within 7 days of
initial trip payment, and (2) the financial default occurs more than 14
days after the policy effective date.; (c) Weather conditions or natural
disasters causing delay or cancellation of travel; (d) Strike resulting
in the complete cessation of travel services; (e) Your home or
destination being made uninhabitable by fire, flood or natural disaster;
(f) You, or a Traveling Companion being subpoenaed, required to serve on
a jury, hijacked or quarantined; (g) A covered Travel Delay which
results in the loss of more than 50% of your scheduled trip length; (h)
A terrorist incident in a city to which you were scheduled to arrive
within 30 days following the incident.
Travel Delay: We will reimburse up to $100 a day to the
Maximum Limit shown on the Schedule of Benefits if the Insured's trip is
delayed for more than 12 hours for reasonable, additional accommodation
and traveling expenses until travel becomes possible.
Medical Expense Benefit: We will
pay this benefit, up to the Maximum Limit shown on the Schedule of
Benefits. We will pay for necessary medical expenses incurred by the
Insured within one year from the date of Injury or Sickness provided
initial treatment was received during the trip. The Injury must occur or
Sickness must begin while the Insured is covered by the policy.
Emergency Medical Transportation:
Covers evacuation and transportation as directed by a doctor to the
nearest adequate medical facility (home in the event of death).
Baggage & Travel Documents Benefit:
Reimburses you if your baggage is lost, stolen, or damaged while on your
trip. This coverage is in excess over any other coverage or indemnity.
Maximum of $4,000 per traveling group.
Baggage Delay Benefit: If your
baggage is delayed more than 24 hours, you will be reimbursed for the
purchase of essential items.
Collision Damage Waiver Benefit:
This benefit provides primary coverage if the car you rented while on
your trip is damaged due to collision, fire, flood, theft, vandalism,
windstorm or hail.
Travel Guard Assistance offers
emergency assistance for your peace of mind anywhere in the world.
- 24-Hour medical Assistance helps you locate local physicians,
dentists, or medical facilities and monitors your condition.
- Medical Evacuation arranges for transportation and a special
medical escort if you need to be transported to a different
hospital, treatment facility or back home.
- Emergency Medical Payments assistance in arranging the
advancement of funds to cover on-site medical expenses.
- Telephone Interpretation Service provides interpretation
services in major languages, and will transmit urgent messages to
family, friends, and business.
- Lost Documents helps replace your lost items and provide other
incidentals.
- Live travel: 24-hour hotline to make emergency travel changes,
such as rebooking flights, hotel reservations, tracking lost
luggage and more!
Live messaging: relay of any e-mail or phone message
to family, friends or business associates.
Emergency cash transfer: assistance in coordinating
an emergency cash advance.
Pre-trip travel advice: around-the-clock access to
passport, visa, inoculation and vaccine requirements; travel
advisories; embassy and consulate contacts; travel health advisories;
weather and currency information – all for your planned destination.
PRE-EXISTING conditions exclusion:
This exclusion applies to ALL Coverage's. It applies to you and all
Family members and traveling companions, whether or not they are
traveling with you. Please read it carefully.
We will not pay for loss or expense incurred as the result of Injury
or Sickness of an Insured or Family Member which manifests itself
during the 180 days immediately preceding the effective date, unless
the condition is controlled through the taking of prescription drugs
or medication and remains controlled throughout the 180 day period. A
Sickness has manifested itself when medical care, treatment, or
diagnosis has been given.
We will waive this exclusion if you meet the following conditions:
- You purchase the plan within 7 days of making your initial trip
payment;
- The amount of Trip Cancellation coverage purchased at that time
equals the full cost of all non-refundable trip arrangements;
- The trip cost per person is no more than $10,000 and the total
cost of the trip is no more than $40,000. This waiver is not
available for policies (for any benefit amounts) if the trip cost
per person is greater than $10,000 and the total cost of the trip
is greater than $40,000;
- The booking for this trip must be the first and only booking for
this travel period and destination;
- You must be medically able to travel when you pay your premium.
California Residents: This plan contains disability
insurance benefits or health insurance benefits, or both, that only
apply during the covered trip. You may have coverage from other
sources that already provides you with these benefits. You should
review your existing policies. If you have any questions about your
current coverage, call your insurer or health plan.
Texas Residents: This policy may provide a
duplication of coverage already provided by your personal auto
insurance, homeowner's, personal liability policy or other source of
coverage.
